AFW FOUNDRY, INC.

AFW Foundry, Inc. is an ISO 9001:2000 certified non-ferrous foundry, supplying high quality sand castings since 1953. Because of their quality systems, customer-driven philosophy, and production capabilities, the business has seen wide spread growth in recent years. In order to stay ahead of the market, the need for expansion of their existing facility and process flow for more efficient and increased production and distributing was needed. Shulfer Architects surveyed the existing facility, and working with specialized consultants has provided AFW Foundry a design for the foundry expansion and new corporate office and employee services building. The foundry expansion was developed in two phases, the first being a 48,000 square foot metal building addition and distribution center for expanded molding lines, and the second consisting of a 5,600 square foot metal building addition that will house sand reclamation processes and raw material storage/waste distribution. In addition to the foundry renovation, a new 11,500 square foot corporate office, training center, and employee services area has been designed to provide a safe and healthy environment for both foundry and office employees.
